The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance says its Careers in Insurance Survey is an initial move towards structuring an industry reaction to expertise deficiencies and staff maintenance issues.

"These are issues that have been talked about for a long time and they're not going to be unraveled with one study," CEO Prue Willsford told insurancenews.com.au.

The investigation of human assets officials and senior chiefs was finished in July with the backing of the Insurance Council of Australia and the National Insurance Brokers Association.

Ms Willsford portrays the level of industry co-operation as "influential".

"Perceiving there is an issue and working together on an answer is truly vital for the business," she said. "There's been co-operation some time recently, however not at this level. The level of coordinated effort has been truly capable. It's a critical result in its own particular right."

The overview results were displayed to a roundtable of 20 insurance agency HR executives a month ago.

A discourse paper illustrating the key discoveries and an arrangement for co-ordinated industry activity is normal before the year's over.

Ms Willsford has left open the likelihood of further research on particular parts of the discoveries.

An extensive board of trustees led by Zurich CEO Daniel Fogarty supervised the overview and will now co-ordinate the business' reaction.
